Youtube Movies = Free Anime

On October 27, 2011, in News, by MrMiyamoto

I’m not sure why exactly, but there are many superb anime movies legally available for rent for free right now on Youtube’s new movie rental service, Youtube Movies.  Go here to stream awesome anime movies and OVAs like Castle of Cagliostro, Karas, Origin: Spirits of the Past, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, Dead Leaves, and more!

Special Kid Icarus Uprising OVAs Announced

On September 12, 2011, in News, by MrMiyamoto

Nintendo had a conference today to announce a ton of new games for the 3DS, but they also had some very special anime news.  Over the next couple of months, Nintendo is going to release exclusive 3D OVAs from Shaft, Studio 4C, and Production I.G..  If you want to see some very high-quality 3D anime, I guess the 3DS is your only option for these exclusive OVAs.

Incoming Organization

On April 5, 2011, in News, by MrMiyamoto

As some people may have realized, there are currently a good number of OVAs in the Movie Guide section as opposed to the OVA section.  This is an artifact left over from our old amalgamated format and will be corrected in the coming days as we shuffle them over to their appropriate section.

New Website!

On March 13, 2011, in News, by MrMiyamoto

Anime Movie Guide was getting a little bit big for its britches on Game Usagi, so we’ve moved it over to its own domain!

Here’s a list of the changes we’ve made to the main Anime Movie Guide aside from the obvious visual ones:

  • Added the release year of each anime movie to its title
  • Organized the listings of anime movies to be sorted by release year for each Studio/Director
  • Found new or expanded images for every movie to match the site’s new wide theme
  • Made fancy headers to separate the Studio/Directors to make scrolling more efficient in the Movie Guide
  • Gave each Studio/Director their own page that can be chosen from the top nav-bar or the side-bar for more focused reading
  • Made the anime reviews slightly less editorial to focus on what’s good about the movies included in the guide instead of what’s bad about other movies

We’re also going to add guides for OVAs and TV Show Anime Movies in the near future, so stay tuned!
