Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie Part 3: Rebellion is coming to North American theatres starting on Dec. 3rd in the US and Dec. 9th in Canada. We quite enjoyed the first two, so if you want to catch the much anticipated third installment on the big screen you should probably go grab your tickets as soon as possible. If Rebellion is anywhere near as good as the first two, expect to see it up on the Movie Guide shortly after December 9th.
In the review of Kuiba I, I stated that I was eagerly awaiting the second installment in the movie series. Well, it looks like my wait will be short indeed as the movie is hitting Chinese theatres this month. Check after the jump for the movie’s trailer that seems to promise we’ll get a much better look at the players in this drama as well as some larger-scale action and improved animation.
When a representative from Vasoon Animation contacted us with an opportunity to watch Kuiba I (魁拔) (pronounced “kwee-ba”), I was certainly intrigued as I had not seen any Chinese anime (or donghua / 動畫) before. Having seen some good South Korean anime (or manhwa-yeonghwa / 만화 영화) in the past I know that Japan isn’t the exclusive home of great Asian animation, so I went into it with an open mind.
Katsuhiro Otomo, who hasn’t made a new full-length anime movie since Steamboy in 2004, released a trailer for his upcoming movie SHORT PEACE which can be viewed on YouTube here. It debuts in Japanese theatres on July 20th this year and we’ll let you know if its as good as his other amazing works when we get a chance to see it ourselves.
